The British Virgin Islands

I recently had the pleasure of a brief sojourn in the Caribbean.  In the first supermarket we visited, on the very first shelf, behold:

Waitrose English Mustard

Waitrose English Mustard

Jars and jars of Waitrose English Mustard, and below, whole shelves of Mustard Piccalilli and Sweet Piccalilli.  This struck me as faintly ludicrous.

Obviously there are plenty of  expatriates on the island (enough for it to be economically viable to import certain foodstuffs from the UK), but my question is this: if you were thousands of miles from home on a beautiful Caribbean island, would mustard really be your first craving?
